Privacy Policy for NMP Notes

Effective Date: July 17, 2026

Application: NMP Notes

1. Data Collection and Storage

NMP Notes is designed to prioritize user privacy by operating as a local-first, offline application. The core functionality of the app allows you to create and manage content entirely on your own device.

All content created within the app (including notes, text, and any added attachments or media like images, audio, or other files) is stored exclusively in the application's private storage on your device.

The developer does not operate any central servers for storing, synchronizing, or tracking your notes and attachments. Consequently, the developer does not access, collect, process, or share your personal data, note content, or usage history.

Unless explicitly required by core system frameworks or third-party integrations initiated by the user (such as choosing a backup destination), the application does not transmit information over the internet.

2. Password Protection

Users may protect selected notes with a password. Passwords are processed and stored locally on the user's device and are used solely to secure access to notes within the application.

Passwords are never transmitted, shared, or sent outside the device. The developer does not collect, store, or have any access to these passwords.

Important / User Responsibility: Setting a password is done entirely at the user's own risk. If a password is lost or forgotten, the protected content cannot be recovered or reset, as the developer has no technical means to bypass the local security structure or restore access.

3. Backups and Storage Access Framework (SAF)

The application allows users to manually create backups of their data. NMP Notes utilizes the Android Storage Access Framework (SAF) to ensure maximum privacy and user control.

The Backup Process & Encryption: When you initiate a backup, the application locally generates a backup file containing your notes and attachments. Users have the option to secure this backup file with a password. The entire backup and encryption process happens strictly on your device.

The application passes the generated file to the Android system, and the user manually selects the final destination through the system file picker. Depending on your choice and device configuration, this destination may include internal device storage, an external SD card, or any third-party cloud provider supported by your device's system file manager (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox). Any data transmission resulting from this choice is handled by the respective system framework or third-party provider, not by the developer.

Important / User Responsibility: The developer has no access to your backup files and does not store or know your backup passwords. Securing and managing backup files and their passwords is done entirely at the user's own risk. If the backup password is lost or forgotten, the backup file cannot be decrypted or restored, and the developer cannot help recover the data.

4. Data Deletion and User Rights

All data is stored locally. Users can delete their data at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the application permanently removes all locally stored application data from the device. Manual backups created by the user in external locations (SD card, cloud) remain under the user's control and must be deleted manually.

In compliance with global privacy regulations (including GDPR/RODO, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, and others), since all data remains exclusively on your device and under your direct physical control, you can fully exercise your rights to access, port, restrict, or erase your information directly through the application interface or by managing the application state within your operating system settings.

5. International Compliance & Legal Basis

Because NMP Notes functions completely offline and does not transmit, collect, or store personal identifiers or user content on remote servers, the application does not perform cross-border data transfers or engage in automated data processing activities. The legal basis for any data processing occurring within the local device environment is purely the user's explicit interaction with and execution of the application's local features.

6. Children's Privacy

NMP Notes is not intended for children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect any data from children, as no data collection mechanisms are implemented.

7. Privacy Policy Changes

Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be published with future updates of the application.
